The event is cupless; participants are expected to use a handheld bottle or hydration pack. A fully stocked aid station with hot food is located near the campground, and an unmanned hydration point is maintained on course.
Pacing rules vary by distance: 100-mile runners may have one pacer after 50 miles; runners over 60 may have a pacer at any time; no pacers are allowed for the 14, 35, or 50 mile races unless approved by the race director. Cutoff times are 38 hours for the 100 and 50 milers, 18 hours for the 35 miler, and 8 hours for the 14 miler.
Campsites lie along the loop approximately halfway around; sites must be reserved through Sombrero Running and are charged for the weekend.
