Festivus 100/50 Miler Trail Run
This is a multi-distance trail running event held in Middleburg, FL. The course is a scenic 7.2 mile loop with about 225 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop. The loop features long leaf pines, palmettos, two footbridges, and typical local wildlife such as deer, birds, and squirrels. Course markings are described as clear and illuminated. Runners who start a new loop after 5pm must carry a headlamp.
Distances offered:
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 35 Miler
- 14 Miler
- 7 Miler
Cutoff times are published for each distance. Drop-downs between distances are allowed but dropped divisions are not eligible for awards. The race is cupless; participants should use a handheld bottle or hydration pack. Aid stations include a main start/finish station with water, electrolyte drink options, hot food items, and typical snacks. A fully stocked aid station is located at the campground around the 4 mile mark and an unmanned hydration station is positioned at the 2 mile mark.
Pacing rules limit pacers for most distances; 100 mile runners may have a pacer after 50 miles and runners over 60 years old have additional allowances. Only one pacer may accompany a runner at a time. Parking is in the main lot and tents can be set up near the course; vehicle access inside the complex is restricted. A limited number of campground sites are available for a weekend fee and require reservation. A portion of proceeds benefits Friends of Florida State Forest and a local nonprofit. There are no refunds or transfers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
