This event is Stop 17 of a multi-stop Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 series held in Staunton, Illinois. The on-site portion is based at Henry's Rabbit Ranch, 1107 Historic Old Route 66, Staunton, IL 62088. Henry's Rabbit Ranch serves as the start location and is described as a roadside museum with a vintage gas station façade, a towering signpost, VW Rabbit displays, and live rabbits.
The series supports ALS awareness by accompanying a person who is running the Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo. At each stop participants share a 2.1 mile Sidekick segment with that runner; the shared segment is intended as a symbolic reminder of support for people and families affected by ALS.
