Run for Bonifest 5K
The Run for Bonifest 5K and 3K Walk takes place in Edwardsville, Illinois, as part of the local Memorial Day weekend celebrations. Recorded as one of the oldest annual race events in the Illinois Metro East area, this event serves as the official start to the summer season for the community. The course layout begins and ends near the St. Boniface Catholic Church campus on North Fillmore Street.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K
- 3K
The 5K is open to both runners and walkers, while the 3K is designated as a walking-only event. Registration is available for individuals or for families of four or more people. In-person registration and packet pick-up occur on the Friday evening preceding the race at the Bonifest Information Tent, with a second opportunity for pick-up on Saturday morning before the start.
Competitors in the 5K race are eligible for awards. Recognition is given to the overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three participants in various age categories. These categories span from ages 9 and under to 70 and over, divided into five-year increments. Live results are provided during the event by a professional racing timing service.
