Soles for Souls 5k Trail Run
The event is the fourth annual Costume Edition 5k trail run held in Denver, North Carolina. It raises funds to support neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty. Participants are invited to wear costumes; there are fall prizes for best costume in each age category.
The course runs over a mix of hard surfaces and wooded trails with uneven terrain and natural obstacles. The route is not stroller friendly.
Distances offered:
- 5k Timed : 3.1 miles
- 5k Non Timed Run/Walk : 3.1 miles
- Kids Fun Run 11 and Under : 1 mile
There are timed and non-timed divisions. The timed division requires a timing device to receive a time. Registration opens July 18, 2026 and closes October 21, 2026. Reported registration fees are $35.00 for the timed 5k, $20.00 for the non-timed 5k, and free for runners 11 and under.
Packet pick up is scheduled for October 23 at Lake Norman Brewery in Denver, NC. All finishers receive a race medal, including Fun Run participants 11 and under. Awards include best costume in each age group, overall fastest male and female, and fastest male and female within listed age brackets.
Runners age 12 and older receive a swag bag. All timed runners will receive a 2026 race t-shirt designed by a Denver area student. Non-timed entrants and children under 12 may purchase a shirt for $15. A t-shirt deadline of October 3, 2026 is listed to guarantee a shirt.
