Event overview
Soil Mates Trail Race is scheduled for February 28, 2026 in Thomaston, Georgia, at 1037 Trice Cemetery Rd. The event offers three distances:
- 5k - one lap; price $40.
- 15k - three laps; price $70.
- 50k - ten laps; price $85.
Prices increase after February 7, 2026. Runners must finish within a 9-hour cut-off for results to count. Awards are given to the first male and first female finisher in each race. All registered runners receive a long-sleeve shirt. 15k and 50k entrants receive a meal ticket (choice of tacos, fajitas, or nachos) from Gaby Cakes and Catering. 5k runners and guests may purchase food from the on-site food truck.
Course and logistics
The looped course is on a family-owned working cattle farm in middle Georgia. The loop distance is 3.1 miles and gains about 220 feet of elevation per loop. Most trail runs through pasture on a five-foot path. There are 1.2 miles of forest single-track with roots and rocks. The start/finish is in a large open pasture with free parking and space for crew set-up along the course. This is a cupless race; runners should bring a handheld bottle or hydration pack. Water refills are available near the start/finish area and mid-course. Wildlife such as cows, deer, rabbits, armadillos, and turkeys may be present.
