Location and course
The race is held at Long Beach Shoreline Park, 212 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA 90802. The course runs on a paved path along the beach with ocean views. The route is described as flat, wide, and suitable for strollers; participants and strollers are asked to keep to the right. The path is also used by the public and may have cyclists and other walkers.
Logistics, rules and awards
Early packet pick up is available at Sports Basement in Long Beach (3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at 2100 N Bellflower Blvd). Race-day registration, bib and shirt pick up are available on site. Pets are allowed if leashed and accompanied by a participant; strollers are allowed at the owner’s risk. Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and age-division awards in five-year spans up to 85 and over for the 5K and 10K. Additional awards are given for best dressed pirate-themed outfits. Donations collected will support a ranch program that needs a wheelchair-accessible restroom trailer; the fundraising goal stated is $4,950. The event proceeds rain or shine.
