SoCal's Pirate's 10k Run - Long Beach
This event offers several running and walking distances in Long Beach. The main races are a 5K and a 10K, which share a mass start. There is also a one-mile race and a kids dash.
The event has a pirate theme. The course is described as flat and fast, taking place on a paved path along the beach with ocean views. The path is wide enough for strollers, walkers, and dogs on leashes.
All registered participants receive a pirate-themed finisher medal, an event t-shirt, and a custom race bib. The race is chip-timed. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top three in various five-year age categories for both the 5K and 10K. There are also awards for the best dressed pirate-themed outfits.
The event takes place at Long Beach Shoreline Park. Parking is available at the structure across from the Aquarium of the Pacific. Early packet pickup is available at a specified time and location prior to race day.
