SoCal Summer Alofa Wave : Long Beach
SoCal Summer Alofa Wave is a run and walk event on August 8, 2026, organized by Fitsistership, a self-funded Pasifika health organization focused on fitness, nutrition, mental health, cultural connection, and community wellness. Proceeds support ongoing wellness programming, community events, and outreach led by the organization.
The event uses an open course along the beach path in Long Beach, California, with marked out-and-back loops. The course layout includes a designated turnaround and an aid station at the start/finish area that provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and energy gels. Specific loop plans are described as follows.
- 5 km
- 10 km (two 5 km loops)
- 15 km (three 5 km loops)
- Half marathon (three 4.36 mile loops)
The start and finish are located near the restrooms by the blue arch on the side of the parking lot closest to Claremont at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90803, off 54th Place and Ocean Blvd. Parking is free in nearby residential areas; the beach parking lot requires payment at machines or via a parking app. Registration is handled through payment platforms or a race platform, with adult and youth fee categories and a stated no refund policy. Transfers are allowed by contacting the event organizer. All participants are required to sign a waiver, which can be completed in advance or at bib pickup.
