I'm Your Huckleberry 5K (Sponsored by AREC)

The I'm Your Huckleberry 5K is a night road running event held in Long Beach on July 23, 2026. The course is an out and back on the beach boardwalk alongside the sand and surf, starting near Belmont Brewing Company at the beginning of Veterans' Pier. The distance is 5K.

The entry fee is $20 and includes a themed "I'm Your Huckleberry" finisher medal and a finisher bib. Additional awards will be given to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Bib pickup takes place on the day of the event between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm.

After the run, participants will gather inside Belmont Brewing Company for food and drink. Official results will be posted online within 36 hours of the event. The event is associated with AREC and counts toward Century Club totals for AREC members.

The medal design references two films, Top Gun (1986) and Tombstone (1993), and the themed event title refers to a line from one of those films. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
