I'm Your Huckleberry 5K (Sponsored by AREC)
The I'm Your Huckleberry 5K is a night running event on July 23, 2026, held in Long Beach. The course is an out and back along the beach boardwalk beside the sand and surf, starting near Belmont Brewing Company at the start of Veterans' Pier. The distance is 5k.
Entry requires a $20 fee and includes a themed "I'm Your Huckleberry" finisher medal and a finisher's bib. Organizers also award additional medals to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers. Bib pickup is scheduled between 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm on the event day.
Registration opens on June 3, 2026 and closes on July 22, 2026. Results will be posted online within 36 hours after the event. The race counts toward Century Club totals for members of AREC.
The event is presented in honor of Val Kilmer; the medal design pays tribute to two of his films referenced by the event name. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
