Aztlan XC Classic
The Aztlan XC Classic is a competitive cross-country event located in Los Angeles, California. Established in 1976, the race takes place at Elysian Park and is part of the LA Parks Run Series. The course follows the original format from its founding year, though it has been modified to meet current City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks guidelines and no longer includes barriers along the route.
The event features several registration categories:
- 17 years and under
- 18 years and over (no shirt included)
- 18 years and over with Retro Shirt
Participants receive a finisher medal and a T-shirt, depending on the registration type selected. A commemorative Cross Country Retro T-shirt is also available for separate purchase. Awards are presented across multiple age divisions, ranging from elementary school age groups (6-10) to masters categories reaching up to 90-99 years. Prize money is available for top finishers in the open category, provided they are cleared through the event director.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Aztlan Athletics Foundation, the Los Angeles Parks Foundation, and Team Andre Patzkowski. These organizations support subsidized running camps, scholarships, and complimentary registrations. Free self-parking is available in designated areas at the venue.
