Snowdrop ULTRA 55 Hour Race
The Snowdrop ULTRA 55 Hour Race is a timed endurance event in which participants run, walk, or walk and run as many laps as they can within a 55 hour period. The event supports the Snowdrop Foundation; proceeds help fund scholarships for children affected by cancer and contribute to pediatric cancer research and awareness.
The event takes place at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City, TX, at 1122 Buffalo Run Blvd. Runners may compete as solo entrants or as members of relay teams of up to 10 runners. Solo participants can earn buckles for reaching 100, 150, 200, and 250 miles.
The course is a USATF certified loop of 0.69045 miles surfaced with crushed granite and pavement. The 55 hour format is symbolic: it honors a sustained surgical effort that lasted 27 hours and the care that followed, represented by the calculation 2 x 27 + 1 = 55 hours.
Event scoring and awards have evolved over time; starting in 2026, awards are given to the first, second and third place relay teams based on total team mileage. The event also maintains a Wall of Fame documenting runners who have completed 100 or more miles at this race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
