Snowdrop ULTRA 55 Hour Race & Relay
The event is a 55-hour ultra running event held at Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City, Texas, that benefits the Snowdrop Foundation, Inc. Participants may compete as individual solo runners or as relay teams of up to ten runners; relay teams must have a minimum of five runners and all team members must be at least 10 years old on race day.
The course is USATF certified at 0.69045 mile per loop and is surfaced with crushed granite and pavement. Official distance is counted only by a timing chip provided by the timing company; the chip and bib must be visible at all times and full laps are the only officially recognized measurement. Solo runners are eligible for belt buckles and for prize money and champion titles; buckles are awarded only for the highest mileage completed.
Race rules for safety and fairness include no pacers for solo runners and a strict relay exchange policy: only the runner wearing the timing chip may be on the course at any time. Violations can result in immediate disqualification.
The event raises funds for scholarships and childhood cancer research and awareness. A deferred entry option is available if organizers are notified at least 60 days before the race; deferred entries apply to the following year and include a discount for returning solo and relay registrants.
