Snow Bull Trail Runs
Snow Bull is a trail event held at Camp Chet in Whitwell, Tennessee, on private forested land of nearly 1,000 acres on Whitwell Mountain, part of the Cumberland Plateau. The property includes dense forest, bluffs and rock formations, wet weather creeks and waterfalls, expansive views, and miles of hiking trails.
The course is a 6.5 mile loop composed of mixed single and double track, grass fields, and logging roads. Each loop has approximately 1,500 feet of elevation gain and is largely runnable with some moderately technical sections. Trails include forest paths, old wagon roads, and former coal mining roads.
Event options listed by the organizer:
- Half-marathon
- 6 Hour endurance run
- 12 Hour endurance run
Finisher awards are provided for all participants. Additional awards are given to the first male and first female finishers in the half-marathon, six hour, and twelve hour events.
Packet pickup is only available on race morning; there is no early packet pickup. Participants must check in on site to receive bibs and ankle monitors and to sign a waiver. The organizer advises using the address 5050 Pocket Road in a GPS, since searching for Camp Chet may direct to a private residence.
Registration closes on Wednesday, Jan 13. Register by end of day Wednesday, Jan 6 to be guaranteed a shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
