Smooth Running 5K Endurance Race
The Smooth Running 5K Endurance Race takes place on St. Simons Island, Georgia. The course consists of paved trails that run under a canopy of oak trees. Participants follow a 5k loop, with the start and finish area located at 1612 Frederica Road.
Participants have the option to complete a single lap or continue running for a duration of up to 12 hours. Every runner who finishes at least one 5k lap receives a finisher medal and a shirt. The event allows for a flexible arrival, as runners can start their laps at any point during the twelve-hour window, provided the final lap begins before the cutoff time.
The course features an aid station at the start and finish line providing water and snacks. The event is characterized as self-supporting, although commercial food and drink vendors, including Jimmy John’s and Smoothie King, are located at the race hub.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female participants who complete the highest number of miles during the event. These top finishers receive special medals and prizes based on their total distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
