Smoky Mountain Bigfoot 5K
The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot 5K and Fun Run takes place in Townsend, Tennessee, positioned against the backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains. This event focuses on a combination of distance running and local folklore. All participants start their chosen route at the Peaceful Side Social and follow courses where Bigfoot sightings are integrated into the experience.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (untimed)
The course includes an on-course aid station for participant support. While the event is open to runners and walkers, certain regulations apply regarding equipment and animals. Due to insurance requirements, pets are not permitted in either race. Strollers and wagons are allowed exclusively on the 1 Mile Fun Run course and are not permitted during the 5K race.
Following the runs, the venue hosts the Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival. This gathering includes live music, food trucks, various vendors, and specialized Bigfoot competitions. The festival area also features a dedicated family fun zone and organized photo opportunities. Participants who move their vehicles after finishing the race are subject to a parking fee. Non-running companions are required to pay an entrance fee to access the festival grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
