Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge
The Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge takes place in Sevierville, Tennessee, near the Great Smoky Mountains. This event is a collaboration between Yeti Trail Runners and East Coast Adventures, focusing on a community-oriented endurance experience. The race is held at a venue located at 1005 Park Road and is limited to a capacity of 300 participants.
The event features a 3-mile loop course. This format allows runners to pass the central aid station and their personal gear every few miles. Participants can choose between two primary time-based formats:
- 24 Hour Challenge
- 9 to 5 Challenge (8 hours)
In the 24-hour category, participants attempt to complete as many laps as possible within the full time limit. Runners who reach a total of 80 miles are awarded a Dolly-themed belt buckle. The 9 to 5 category provides an 8-hour window for runners to accumulate mileage during daylight hours.
The central aid station provides hydration and snacks every 3 miles. All participants receive a finisher medal and a custom race T-shirt. The course design emphasizes constant interaction between runners, spectators, and volunteers throughout the duration of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
