Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge
The Smoky Mountain 24 Hour Challenge is a timed trail running event in Sevierville, Tennessee on October 17, 2026. Runners complete repeated laps on a 3 mile loop located at 1005 Park Road near the Great Smoky Mountains. Two timed formats are offered on the same course.
The primary format is a 24 hour challenge in which participants run as many miles as they can within 24 hours. A second format, the 9 to 5 Challenge, gives runners eight hours on the same loop. Registration fees are listed at $250 for the 24 hour format and $150 for the 9 to 5 format.
The aid station sits at the center of the loop, so runners pass it every three miles. That placement enables frequent access to snacks, hydration, crew gear, and volunteer support. Volunteers and other runners provide encouragement throughout the event.
- 24 Hour Challenge: 24 hours to run as many miles as possible on the 3 mile loop.
- 9 to 5 Challenge: Eight hours to cover as much distance as possible on the same loop.
Field size is limited to 300 runners. Finishers receive a medal and a custom race T shirt. Runners who reach 80 miles earn a Dolly themed belt buckle. The event is organized by East Coast Adventures in collaboration with Yeti Trail Runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
