Small Town Christmas 34 Hour
Small Town Christmas 34 Hour is a 34-hour ultrarunning event held in Valley, Alabama, on a 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Shawmut Airport. The course is repeated loop format around a short circuit beside the river.
The event supports a local holiday carousel tradition that provides free rides to children. That tradition began as an outreach by local textile mills and now continues largely through city support and donations from local businesses. The race serves as an aid to help carry on that tradition.
Previous editions recorded multiple 100-mile finishes, several distance personal records, and a world record tying total of 50 100-mile finishes in a year. The event description notes enjoyment of the 2 mile loop and that participants have produced notable distance results across past years.
Event awards and registration details include an event t-shirt for runners who register by the t-shirt deadline of November 25, 2026. Each finisher receives a unique finisher award, and runners who reach 100 miles receive a custom MuddyCrudd belt buckle. Registration closes December 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET.
