Small Town Christmas 34 Hour
Small Town Christmas is a 34 hour ultrarunning event held in Valley, Alabama, at Shawmut Airport on a two mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. The course is a repeated two mile circuit that runs beside the river and is based in the small town setting of Valley.
The event supports a local holiday carousel tradition that provides free rides for children. That tradition began as an outreach by local textile mills and now continues largely through donations from local businesses and support from the city. Proceeds from the event help to carry on this community tradition.
Previous editions included multiple 100 mile finishes, several personal best performances, and a world record tying achievement related to annual 100 mile finishes. The event is entering its third year and has drawn repeat participants and new runners in past seasons.
Awards include an event T shirt for runners registered by the T shirt deadline of 11/25/2026, a unique finisher award for those who complete the event, and a custom MuddyCrudd belt buckle for runners who reach 100 miles.
