About the race
Small Town Christmas 34 Hour is a 34-hour ultrarunning event held in Valley, AL on December 5, 2026. The course is a repeated 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Shawmut Airport. The event is organized by Muddy Crudd Trail and Ultrarunning and is scheduled as an in-person race.
The event supports a local holiday tradition: a free carousel for children that is sustained largely by donations from local businesses and municipal support. Past editions produced multiple 100-mile finishes, several personal distance bests, and a world-record-tying achievement of fifty 100-mile finishes in a single year.
Participants who register by the event shirt deadline of 11/25/2026 receive an event t-shirt. All finishers receive a unique finisher award, and runners who reach 100 miles receive a custom MuddyCrudd belt buckle.
