Small Town Christmas 34 Hour is a 34-hour timed ultrarunning event in Valley, AL, organized by Muddy Crudd Trail and Ultrarunning. The race is run on a 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Shawmut Airport. The event supports a local holiday carousel tradition that is funded largely by donations from local businesses after the closure of the town's textile mills and subsequent transfer of responsibility to the city government.
Previous editions of the event included multiple 100 mile finishes, several personal distance bests, and a world record tying total of 50 100-mile finishes in a single year. The event offers participant items and awards: registrants who meet the t-shirt registration deadline of 11/25/2026 will receive an event shirt, each finisher will receive a unique finisher award, and runners who reach the 100 mile distance will receive a custom MuddyCrudd belt buckle.
