Holiday Hootie Hoo : Half Marathon and 10K
The Holiday Hootie Hoo is a trail race held at F.D.R. State Park on Pine Mountain, Georgia. The event includes a Half Marathon and a 10K. The 10K uses the Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop and part of the Long Leaf Loop. The Half Marathon route passes rock outcroppings, hardwood and longleaf pine stands, springs, creek crossings, and long sections of rocky, root-filled singletrack covered in leaves. Course aid stations are listed as 1 for the 10K and 2.5 for the Half Marathon. Overall male and female awards are offered.
Logistics and fees
Entry fees are listed as $70 for the 10K and $85 for the Half Marathon, with prices increasing to $85 and $100 respectively after November 22. A $5 parking fee per vehicle applies in Georgia State Parks. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed, and there is no race-day registration. Each entrant receives a race hoodie and a finisher award; hoodie size is not guaranteed for registrations after November 30. A portion of proceeds will benefit the park, the Pine Mountain Trail Association, and the Humane Society of Harris County.
