small park BIG RUN Marshals
small park BIG RUN is a community event held in Meersbrook Park, Sheffield. It is a unique 24 hour running community challenge on a roughly 1 km circuit. The event raises awareness of and funds for women's education and children's mental health in Palestine.
The format is flexible: participants may run, walk, jog or wheel the circuit and may take part as individuals, teams or families. The organisers aim to keep at least two people on the course at all times over the 24 hour period. A free one lap Fun Run for all participants, with a particular focus on children, takes place on the Sunday after the main 24 hour challenge concludes.
Registration offers options to select or reserve time slots and to express interest in event merchandise such as commemorative shirts, vests or buffs. Entry fees are listed by category and include Adult £15, Child or Unemployed £5, Family (up to two adults and three children) £30, and free entry for asylum seekers and refugees. There is also an option to make a donation when paying the entry fee.
The event emphasises accessibility and community support and includes a programme of activities and a group singing event to connect participants with children in Gaza. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
