Beast of Bamford Fell Race
The Beast of Bamford Fell Race is a challenging winter running event held in the Peak District, around the village of Bamford. The main race covers 15 km with 660 meters of ascent, featuring a bat-shaped, anticlockwise route that includes Bamford Moor, Bamford Edge, Ladybower plug holes, and Win Hill, finishing at Bamford Recreation Ground alongside a Christmas Market. For a tougher challenge, the Beastier of Bamford offers a 23 km course with 1050 meters of ascent.
Both races require navigational skills and mandatory safety kit, are licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UK Athletics rules, and attract up to 500 participants aged 18 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
