About the race
Beast of Bamford Fell Race takes place in Bamford, in the Peak District’s Hope Valley. The event offers two routes: a 15 km Beast (660 m ascent) and a 23 km Beastier (1,050 m ascent). The bat-shaped, anticlockwise course traverses Bamford Moor and Bamford Edge, skirts the Ladybower plug holes, and climbs to Win Hill, finishing at the Recreation Ground near Bamford’s Christmas Market.
The races are FRA-licensed under UKA Rules and require navigational skills, with mandatory minimum kit carried. Registration is at Bamford Recreation Ground, with limited capacity (up to 500). This is touted as a standout winter fell race in a spectacular valley setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
