Beast of Bamford events
The Beast of Bamford and the Beastier of Bamford are fell races held around the village of Bamford in the Peak District. The shorter route is described as bat-shaped and runs anticlockwise around the Hope Valley skyline. Route features include Bamford Moor, Bamford Edge, Ladybower plug holes and Win Hill, with the finish at Bamford with Thornhill Recreation Ground during the village Christmas Market.
Both races are licensed by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) under UKA rules. Navigational skills are required for both courses and FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit must be carried; kit may be checked at the start or finish.
