Slopeside Slumber Party
Slopeside Slumber Party is a timed trail event held at Roundtop Mountain Resort in Lewisberry, PA, organized by the York Road Runners Club as part of the York Ridge Runners Trail Series. The main event gives runners three hours to complete as many loops as they choose on an approximately 1.5-mile loop with about 600 feet of elevation gain. The loop includes 0.5 miles of pavement and about 1 mile of mowed grass, with a sustained climb to the highest point in York County and a steep, fully lit descent. Trail shoes are recommended for the descent.
Each completed loop earns a pog as proof of the lap. Top three finishers in the main event receive slammers. Main event registration is $40 and is limited to 150 runners. A kids race is offered for children aged 12 and under, with adult companions allowed when a waiver is signed; that race costs $5 and is limited to 40 entries. The kids course is roughly a mile with hills and finishes before dark.
Race amenities include event swag, indoor restrooms, a fully stocked aid station, volunteers along the course, and food and beer available for purchase by card. Entrants receive free tent camping in the Gifford Pinchot State Park group area for the weekend. Headlamps are required.
