Event Overview
Slieve Martin is a mountain running event taking place on Thursday, 30th April 2026, in County Down. It is organised by Newcastle AC as part of the Hill & Dales League.
Course Details
The event covers a 7 km distance with a total climb of 550 m. No short course is offered. The race marking policy specifies that only major junctions on the route will be marked. The use of GPS devices is not permitted.
Event Requirements
The event has a difficulty rating of 3 (Easy Terrain, <200M ascent, <6Km). All participants are required to bring mandatory Level B kit. This kit includes:
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or buff
- Gloves
- Whistle
- Charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored
- Foil blanket, bivvy bag, or equivalent Runners must have the means to carry all required kit.
