Event overview
Slay the Dragon is a trail running event at Silver Star Mountain Resort, near Vernon, British Columbia, held June 19-21, 2026. The courses use single track and open slope terrain and include technical sections, climbs, and long descents. The route is described as well flagged and served by staffed aid stations. The Kids Race is about 2.5 km on the Cross Mountain Trail, timed, open to children aged 0-12, and awards a medallion and a goodie bag to each finisher; parent participation is suggested. The Vertical Climb is a 2 km ascent with approximately 480 m of elevation gain on open slope with no marked trail. Included with most entries are a custom race shirt, custom bib, swag bag, finisher prize, fully stocked aid stations, first aid coverage, and on-site services such as an expo, massage, and food options. Early registration pricing ends February 1, 2026; listed early fees are CAN $215 (50 km), CAN $160 (25 km), CAN $135 (13.6 km), CAN $20 (Vertical Climb), and CAN $20 (Kids Race, t-shirt not included).
