Skylar's Run - 5K for Clean Water
The event highlights the distance many women and children in parts of East Africa walk daily to collect water that is often unsafe. The event frames access to safe, clean water as a solvable problem and directs funds to that effort.
All funds raised are used to provide sustainable water filters for vulnerable families in Kenya. Direct filter donations are matched to recipient families. The event offers opportunities for group and individual fundraising and a family registration option.
Event formats include:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 1/2 mile Walk and Roll on an accessible paved loop
- Virtual 5K participation option
The venue is Little Mulberry Park, Fence Road Entrance, Auburn GA 30011 US. Registration for in-person events typically includes a participant t shirt, a giveaway ticket, and post event drinks and snacks. The Walk and Roll is accessible; primary participants may register a free buddy without an extra fee and buddy shirts are available for purchase.
New for 2026: the course has been revised to remove a steep hill on one loop; an add-on donation option allows purchase of a water filter for $100 with matching to a recipient family; requested t shirt sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after September 10, 2026. Awards include timed medals for top age and gender finishers and trophies for overall top finishers, plus a medal ceremony and photobooth after events.
