Event overview

The Skunk Ape’s Revenge trail races take place on February 14, 2026 at the Green Swamp - West Tract in Dade City, Florida (13347 Ranch Road). Distances offered are:

  • 60K
  • 30K
  • 30K Ruck

Awards are given to the top four men and top four women overall. Finisher items include hats and stickers; 30K Ruck finishers receive a hat plus a special patch. Merchandise such as shirts and hoodies is available. A pet food drive for Cindy’s Pets will be run alongside the event; the charity delivers roughly 2,000 pounds of pet food to over 400 pets each month.

Course and logistics

The course uses a mix of pasture lanes, dirt roads, single-track on the Florida Trail, sugar sand, fire berms, and some hills. Marking includes pink flagging and directional arrow signs, plus glow sticks and tape in trail sections. The main start area is between Ranch and Cumpressco Road and the route passes landmarks such as Big Foot BSA campsite, Cedar Pocket Road, and a fire berm loop.

Aid stations are positioned every 3 to 5 miles and supply drinks, snacks, band-aids, and basic hygiene items. There is one drop bag zone at the Berm Aid Station; drop bags must have the participant name and will be returned to the start/finish after the aid station packs up. Pacing rules differ by distance: no pacers for the 30K; 60K pacers may join for the final 30K loop. Crew vehicles must remain parked behind the gate or at campsites; crew access to aid stations by vehicle is not provided. Camping in the Green Swamp is free with a required reservation. Registration closes February 12. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
