The Skipton Sweetie Skedaddle takes place in Skipton, North Yorkshire on 11 January 2026. The event offers multiple distance options along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath, with the start area listed at Craven Leisure Centre, 21 Gargrave Rd, Skipton, and the route passing near Aireville Park.
Distances:
- 5K (entrants aged 16 and over)
- 10K (entrants aged 16 and over)
- 10 Mile (entrants aged 17 and over)
- Half Marathon (entrants aged 17 and over)
- 20 Mile (entrants aged 18 and over)
- Marathon (entrants aged 18 and over)
- Ultra Marathon (entrants aged 21 and over)
Included for finishers are a bespoke finisher’s medal and post-race food items such as sweets, chocolate and cake. Entry fees vary by distance.
Course, support and logistics
The route is on canal towpath and compact trail, generally flat and suitable for fast times. Courses are either out-and-back or lapped depending on distance. The event is signed and marshalled, with feed stations approximately every 3 miles. Suggested footwear is road shoes.
Travel: the start line is about a five-minute walk from Skipton train station. Parking is available in local car parks and nearby streets; entrants are asked to avoid the Leisure Centre pay-and-display.
Other information: there is a 6.5-hour cut-off for all distances. The event is cup-less, so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle. Over-ear headphones are not permitted; bone-conducting or one-ear-only headphones are allowed. Downloadable GPX files, withdrawal and transfer procedures are provided by the organiser.
