Skiddaw Keswick
The Skiddaw Fell Race, organized by Keswick Athletic Club, is a challenging 15.4 km (9.6 miles) mountain race with a 960m (3150ft) ascent, held in Keswick, England. Starting at Fitz Park near Keswick Football Club, the course features firm, mainly hard paths with no bogs, making trail shoes preferable in dry conditions. The route ascends Skiddaw via Latrigg, the Hawell Monument, and steep zig-zags to Jenkin Hill, then skirts Skiddaw Little Man before reaching the rocky summit plateau.
Weather can be harsh and visibility poor, so mandatory kit includes waterproofs, map, compass, whistle, and emergency food. The race is known for its tough terrain and blister-prone conditions, offering a true fell running experience in the Lake District. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
