Skate4Grant's Grief Challenge Run : event description
Skate4Grant's Grief Challenge Run is scheduled for August 8, 2026 at Seven Sisters Prairie in Ashby, Minnesota. The event offers in person and virtual participation and focuses on remembering loved ones during a community run or walk.
Participants may submit a name and photo of a loved one; organizers will display submitted names and photos along the course and include them on race bibs. Virtual participants are included in this display and may receive photos shared by organizers.
Courses and options:
- 5K: 1.5 miles out and back on hilly gravel with mile markers.
- 5 Mile: 1.2 mile flat along Lake Christina plus 4 miles of gravel with 16 hills.
- In Spirit (virtual): run or walk from any location; distance is flexible though listed as 5K.
Routes have clear mile markers and signage to help participants follow the course. The registration fee is $25 and includes a hat; registrations completed by August 1 are entered into a gift card drawing. The event description notes that donations are accepted separately.
