Lake Region Run (2027)
The 2027 Lake Region Run is a multi-distance running event in Fergus Falls with on-course routes that showcase local landmarks. The event uses loop and out-and-back formats and finishes near Dr. Allen Magnuson Park for several races. The 10-mile course passes Lake Alice, the Regional Treatment Center, the M State campus, and Butterfly Park, and joins the 5K on its return.
A two-person 10 mile relay splits into a six mile first leg and a four mile second leg with the exchange at M State. Relay teams may register in men’s, women’s, or mixed divisions. Exchange procedures include an ankle bracelet handoff; porta potties and water are provided at the exchange. Teams receive custom finisher medals and top teams in each division are awarded.
The 5K follows Mill Street and circles Lake Alice, with average pace signs at the start to help runners and walkers group by pace. The 1-mile is an out-and-back on Mill Street aimed at younger participants; all 1-mile entrants receive participation medals and top finishers receive medals. A Combo option pairs the 5K and 1-mile.
Virtual participants may submit times for the 10 mile, 5K, or 1 mile between May 19 and June 1. Virtual entrants receive a participation medal and a pair of socks, available for pickup at LRH Unity Wellness or shipped mid-June. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
