About the race
The Skagit Flats Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K is the 49th edition of this road race held in Burlington, Washington, with the venue at Burlington-Edison High School. The event is limited to 800 entrants and uses chip timing for all distances.
The courses run on rural roads through Skagit Valley farmland and are described as flat. The full marathon is a Boston qualifier and both the marathon and half marathon are USATF certified (marathon USATF # WA21009RMB; half USATF # WA19017RMB). The marathon and half finish on the Burlington-Edison High School track. Course marshals monitor intersections and the route closes after six hours; participants must finish within that time.
Distances:
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
Full-service aid stations are placed along the marathon course, with water-only stations near the final full-marathon turnarounds. Aid stations provide water, FLUID Performance sports drink, and Honey Stinger Gels; porta potties will be located adjacent to aid stations. Volunteers and cell phone communication will support on-course medical response. There will be no gear check and the organizers are not responsible for lost or stolen items. All finishers receive a medal, and high school locker rooms will be available after the race. Packet pickup is offered the day before at a local running store and on race morning at the high school.
