Event overview
The Smokestack Out'N Back 5K is scheduled for January 1, 2026, at Hamilton Landing Park in Stanwood, WA (26810 98th Ave NW). This is the event's second annual New Year Kickoff. The out-and-back course follows calm county roads and the Port Susan Trail, with the historic smokestack visible along the route. The event is described as family-friendly and dog-friendly; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Non-registered family members may join but will not receive a medal or be entered in event drawings.
Logistics and amenities
The event uses chip timing. Every registered participant will receive a commemorative finisher medal. Awards will be given to the top male, female, and kid finishers. Light post-race refreshments will be available, and registered participants and volunteers are entered into a post-race appreciation drawing. Packet pick-up is provided. Registration is non-refundable. Early registrations include a limited discount: the first ten adult registrants receive a 10% entry fee discount with promo code "FIRST10". Parking at Hamilton Landing Park is limited; overflow options include The Cookie Mill (9808 WA-532) and Coastal Community Bank (9818 WA-532). Additional downtown street parking and a public parking lot are about an 8–10 minute walk from the park. Volunteers will assist with parking.
