Event overview
The Six Foot Track Marathon is a trail race that follows the full length of the Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains. The route runs from the Explorer's Marked Tree near Katoomba to the Jenolan Caves and covers 45 km. The event began in 1984 and follows the entire trail. The 2026 race date is Saturday, 14 March 2026.
Organisation and participation
The race is run as a not-for-profit event. All profits are donated to the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service, and the service crews the aid stations on race day. Each year the event has over 1,100 entrants completing the course on race day. Race partners and sponsors include the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service, Sydney Striders, Tailwind Nutrition, Blue Mountains Running Co, and CamelBak.
