Six Foot Track Marathon
The Six Foot Track Marathon follows the full length of the Six Foot Track, a 45 km trail across the Blue Mountains from the Explorer's Marked Tree near Katoomba to the Jenolan Caves. The event began in 1984 and uses the entire trail route.
The race is organised as a not for profit event. All profits are donated to the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service, which crews the aid stations on race day. Each year the event records over 1,100 entrants completing the course on race day.
The 2026 race date is Saturday, 14th March 2026.
Transport for NSW reports the Great Western Highway is closed at Victoria Pass for emergency roadworks. If the road is still closed on 14 March, event buses will detour via the Darling Causeway and Chifley Road to Main Street, Lithgow, then return to the Great Western Highway and Jenolan Caves Road. That detour will add approximately 30 minutes to the journey in each direction, depending on traffic volumes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
