Event overview
The Hounslow Classic is a weekend trail running event in the Blue Mountains region around Blackheath and the Grose Valley Wilderness. The courses run along sandstone cliff tops, descend into canyon tracks and include steep, technical sections and rocky peaks with wide views of the Grose Valley. The event is held on land acknowledged as Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples; the organiser recognises the Traditional Owners and their continuing connection to these lands.
Races and course highlights
- 42 km - Hounslow Marathon
- 17 km - Hounslow 17k
The Hounslow 17k follows cliff-top trails between Govetts Leap and Evans Lookout and passes through the Grand Canyon track. The Marathon follows the 17k route and also includes an out-and-back section from Allview Escape to the Pinnacles via Perrys Lookdown and Lockleys Pylon.
Event logistics
The event features an event village and festival area with food vendors and a bar, registration desks, mandatory gear checks and provision for drop bags at the Pinnacles aid station. Race procedures include wave starts, early-starter options, podium and age-group presentations, and cut-off times for courses. Results and participant photos are published after the event.
