Saints and Sinners Lap Race
The Saints and Sinners Lap Race is a timed lap event based at St Columba’s College in Springwood. The race uses a defined 5km loop that starts and finishes in the school courtyard surrounded by sandstone buildings. The course follows hilly fire trails and winding single track along the Springwood Ridge, passes two aid stations, an oval, a downhill single-track section, the Saints and Sinners bridge, some fire trail and pavement, and a pond loop before returning to the hub. Total lap elevation is about +110m. All routes are marked and marshals are stationed at key points.
Participants choose to run for either 3 hours or 6 hours and may enter as:
- 3 hours - solo, pair, team of 3, or team of 4
- 6 hours - solo, pair, team of 3, or team of 4
Aid Station 1 (2 km), Aid Station 2 (3.5 km) and the Race Hub (5 km) provide water, fruit, electrolytes, lollies, chips and cola, emergency pads and tampons, hand sanitiser, and waste bins. There will be no cups on course; runners must carry at least 500 mL of water and follow the event No Water No Result rule. Parking and toilets are available on the school grounds. There are no on-course toilets. Headphones are not allowed; walking poles are permitted with care. Volunteers are welcome. Runners and volunteers receive a free coffee or hot chocolate and later hot food and a cold drink at the finish. Detailed map and .gpx file are provided for the course.
