Participation Details
The Open Mile is available for runners of different experience levels. Participants who meet specific time standards, such as 4:10 for men and 4:50 for women, may qualify for the Elite Mile. Most high school athletes are instructed to register for the high school specific races, with top performers potentially being moved to elite fields after registration closes. To assist runners in achieving their targets, the event provides dozens of pacers across many of the heats.
Handcrafted awards are provided for winners of all heats, and trophies are given to overall division winners. Monetary prizes are also available for top finishers in the Elite and Open divisions.
