Ugly Sweater Green & Grinchy 5K and Merry Mile
The Ugly Sweater Green & Grinchy 5K and Merry Mile take place at Legacy Park in Norman on December 12, 2026. The event features a holiday sweater and costume theme and includes both a timed 5K and an untimed 1 mile walk or run. The gathering also includes a countdown to the park holiday lighting after the races.
Distances
- 5K - certified and flat 3.1 mile course
- Merry Mile - untimed 1 mile walk or run
All participants receive a custom medal and a custom race bib. A timing tag is provided for 5K participants. Race shirts are available as a $15 add-on for adults and youth; any remaining shirts may be sold at the event while supplies and sizes last.
This event is part of the Norman Race Series. Norman Race Series awards will be presented at this event for participants who completed every race in the series.
Registration opens January 15, 2026. Registration details differ by event: the 5K registration closes July 1, 2026 with a fee of $30, and the Merry Mile registration closes December 13, 2026 with a fee of $25.
Packet pickup is arranged before race week at Beanstalk Coffee & Sno (3408 36th Ave NW, Norman). Race day packet pickup will also be available on site starting one hour before the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
