Course Information and Regulations
Participation is open to runners who are at least 17 years old on the day of the race. The course is composed of public roads and finished with a segment on a track. Due to the nature of the terrain, the route is not suitable for wheelchairs. Participants are also prohibited from running with buggies or pets.
The event operates under strict safety and equipment rules. In-ear headphones are not permitted, and their use results in disqualification. Bone-conducting headphones are the only exception allowed. There are specific time requirements for participants; runners must reach the Gulberwick landmark within 2 hours and 15 minutes to remain in the race. A total kurs cut-off time of 3 hours is enforced.
Logistics
The event begins at Cunningsburgh Hall in Shetland. Registration includes an event vest, though participants have the option to decline the clothing for a reduced entry fee. Entries must be completed online by a designated deadline in May. Race numbers are non-transferable between runners, and refunds are only issued if the event is cancelled.
