SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20
The Lamplighter 20 is a night trail run of approximately 20 miles on a circular route from Goathland Village Hall across the North York Moors. The event is organised to run from sunset to sunrise, taking entrants over open moorland, forestry and good tracks and visiting triangulation pillars and other checkpoint locations.
Participants register before last light and are given a tracker. A GPX file and a master map are supplied and some marker flags will be on the course. There will be refreshments, water, fizzy pop and snacks at multiple checkpoints, including two outdoor stations and one indoor checkpoint; hot food is provided at the finish with vegetarian and gluten free options. All finishers receive a Lamplighter medal and there are mementos for the first male and first female finishers. An optional event technical T shirt is available for purchase for £18.
Entrants are limited to 40 and the minimum age is 18. Entry options and fees listed are Solo £35 and Pair £70. Each entrant must carry mandatory kit and will sign to confirm possession; kit may be spot-checked during the event. Mandatory items include a map covering the North Yorkshire Moors, working compass, whistle, head-torch plus spare torch or batteries, emergency bivvy bag, spare hat and gloves, spare warm top, waterproof jacket and/or bottoms, a charged mobile phone with a charging lead and a battery pack, at least 500 ml of drink, at least 60 g of emergency food, and a cup for drinks at checkpoints.
