SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20
The Lamplighter 20 is a night trail run of approximately 20 miles on a circular route from Goathland Village Hall across the North York Moors. The event runs through the hours of darkness from sunset to sunrise and uses a mixture of good tracks, open moorland and forestry with marker flags and navigation aids.
Each entrant receives a tracker and access to a GPX file and master map to assist with navigation. The route visits triangulation pillars and other checkpoint locations, including one indoor checkpoint. Refreshments, water and snacks are provided at several checkpoint locations, and hot food with vegetarian and gluten free options is available at the finish. All finishers receive a Lamplighter medal and the first male and first female finishers receive a memento.
Entries are limited to 40 participants and entry is available for solo runners or pairs. The minimum age is 18. Mandatory kit must be carried by each entrant and will be checked at registration and at checkpoints; required items include a map covering the North Yorkshire Moors, compass and whistle, headtorch plus spare torch or batteries, emergency bivvy bag, spare warm clothing, waterproofs, a charged mobile phone with charging lead and at least 500 ml of fluid and 60 g of emergency food.
