SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20
The Lamplighter 20 is a night trail run of approximately 20 miles on a circular route based at Goathland Village Hall in the North York Moors. The event runs from sunset to sunrise and visits triangulation pillars and other checkpoint locations before returning to the village hall.
The route uses marked flags and passes over good tracks, open moorland and forestry. Each entrant receives a tracker and is supplied with a GPX file and a master map to assist navigation. There will be at least one indoor checkpoint and refreshments, water, soft drinks and snacks at checkpoint locations. Entrants have 6.5 hours to complete the course and all finishers receive a Lamplighter medal; there are prizes for the first male and first female finishers.
Entries are open for solo or pair teams and are limited to 40 participants. Minimum age is 18 on the event date. Parking at the village hall is prioritised for marshals, with additional parking available within the village. Entrants may rest in the village hall before travelling home.
The organiser is SilverBack Trails. An event specific technical T shirt is available for purchase for £18. A mandatory kit list includes map and compass, headtorch plus spare, emergency bivvy, spare warm clothing, waterproofs, charged mobile and battery pack, at least 500 ml of drink, at least 60 g of emergency food and a cup for checkpoint drinks.
