SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20
The Lamplighter 20 is a night trail run of approximately 20 miles that starts and finishes at Goathland Village Hall and takes place across the North York Moors from sunset to sunrise. The circular route visits triangulation pillars and other checkpoint locations and follows a mix of good tracks, open moorland and forestry. The course will include marker flags and organisers provide a GPX file and a master map to assist navigation. Each entrant receives a tracker.
Refreshments, water, fizzy pop and snacks will be available at checkpoint locations, and hot food with vegetarian and gluten free options is offered at the finish. There is one indoor checkpoint on the route. Entrants may rest in the village hall before travelling home.
Entry is limited to 40 participants. Minimum age is 18. Entry options are solo and pair; published fees are £35 for solo and £70 per pair. An optional event technical T shirt is available for purchase.
Participants must carry mandatory kit and will sign to confirm possession at registration; a kit item will be checked at a checkpoint. Mandatory kit includes a map covering the North York Moors, a working compass and whistle, a head-torch plus spare torch or batteries, an emergency bivvy bag, spare hat and gloves, a spare warm top, waterproof jacket and bottoms with taped seams unless Paramo, a charged mobile phone and charging lead, a battery pack, at least 500 ml of water, at least 60 g of emergency food and a cup for checkpoint drinks.
