SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20
SilverBackTrails Lamplighter 20 is a night trail run held Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 June 2026, starting and finishing at Goathland Village Hall. The event is a circular route through the North York Moors that visits triangulation pillars and several checkpoint locations. The advertised distance is 20 miles.
The course uses marker flags and follows a mix of good tracks, open moorland and forestry. Each entrant receives a tracker and access to a GPX and a master map to assist with navigation. There is one indoor checkpoint on the route. Refreshments, water, fizzy drinks and snacks are provided at checkpoint locations and hot food will be available at the finish, including vegetarian and gluten free options. Entrants may rest in the village hall before travelling home.
The run is scheduled to operate from sundown to sunup for the event date and entrants have 6.5 hours to return to Goathland Village Hall. Entry is open to solo runners or pairs, minimum age 18, and places are limited to 40. Finishers receive a Lamplighter medal and the first male and first female finishers receive a memento. An event specific technical T shirt is available to purchase for £18.
Each entrant must carry mandatory kit including a map covering the North Yorkshire Moors, a working compass and whistle, a head-torch plus spare torch or batteries, an emergency bivvy bag, spare hat and gloves, an extra warm top, waterproof jacket and bottoms, a battery pack and charging lead, a charged mobile phone with the race director number, at least 500 ml of drink, at least 60 g of emergency food and a cup. Parking at the village hall is limited to marshals; there is parking elsewhere in the village. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
