Silver State 50/50 : May 16, 2026

The Silver State 50/50 is a set of trail endurance races held at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno. The event includes multiple distances that start and finish at the Great Basin Adventure area next to the Arboretum. Registration opens December 31, 2025, closes May 13 at 11:59 p.m., and there is no race day registration; entries are handled through UltraSignup.

The courses run entirely on dirt trails and dirt roads. The 50 kilometer course records about 6,100 feet of ascent and 6,100 feet of descent; the 50 mile course records about 9,500 feet of ascent and 9,500 feet of descent. Elevation on the courses ranges roughly from 4,700 feet to 8,266 feet. The 50 mile route includes a 7.1 mile segment called Jimmy’s Loop. Course wayfinding uses color coded ribbon and arrows for each distance.

Aid stations are staged along the routes and provide water, ice, electrolytes, carbonated water, Coke, Sprite, ginger ale, and a variety of food items including potatoes, sandwiches, fruit, crackers and candy. Drop bags are allowed at specified aid stations. The race is cupless, and the use of trekking poles is permitted. The event awards overall winners and first place age group finishers across standard age divisions for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
