Silver State 50/50 - Reno, NV
Silver State 50/50 is a multi-distance trail running event that starts and finishes at Rancho San Rafael Park, in the Great Basin Adventure area next to the Arboretum (1595 N. Sierra Street). The event includes three organized race distances.
- 50 miles
- 50 kilometers
- Trail half-marathon (13.1 miles)
The course runs entirely on dirt trails and dirt roads. The 50K uses seven aid stations and the 50M uses nine aid stations. Elevation gain and loss vary by distance: the 50K includes about 6,100 feet of climb and descent, while the 50M includes about 9,500 feet of climb and descent. Course elevations range from approximately 4,700 feet up to 8,266 feet.
The trail half-marathon covers 13.1 miles of single track with climbing and descending. The races pass through terrain with dirt, rock and pine trees and offer views of the Sierra Nevada and the Truckee Meadows. The 50K is included in the PAUSATF MUT Grand Prix Schedule. Both the 50-mile and 50-kilometer courses are noted as useful training for longer trail ultras. Runners can expect a well-marked course, volunteers, aid station food and post-race food and drink at the finish. There is no race-day registration.
