Silver Lead Creek 5K
The Silver Lead Creek 5K is part of the grand re-opening of Little Trout Lake Park organized by the Marquette County Planning Division with event support from Forsyth Forward. The event takes place at Little Trout Lake Park near K.I. Sawyer, Michigan. Directions note: take M-94 to Scorpion; Little Trout Lake is located on Peg off Scorpion.
This free 5K Run/Walk is open to all ages and abilities. Participation requires prior registration, a signed waiver, and a race bib. Bibs are distributed at the Forsyth Forward table prior to the race. No pets are permitted in the race.
Course description: the route uses the new gravel trails and follows an out and back layout in two separate directions. Trails are wide, and runners are asked to stay to the right when not passing to avoid oncoming participants. The final half mile is a more technical section on dirt trail through the woods southeast of Little Trout Lake. The course includes about 150 feet of elevation gain.
