Lake District Running Festival 2026

The Lake District Running Festival is scheduled for 11 April 2026 at Keswick School, Vicarage Hill, Keswick CA12 5QB. The event offers two trail race distances that use trails around Derwent Water and nearby fells.

  • 53k route passes Derwent Water, goes through Seathwaite, ascends Scafell Pike, travels into Wasdale, skirts Kirk Fell, crosses Honister Pass, summits High Spy and descends Catbells back to Keswick.
  • 23k route passes Derwent Water, goes through Menesty, ascends High Spy and descends Catbells back to Keswick.

The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. The 53k race has a 13.5 hour overall cutoff with rolling cutoffs at aid stations. Minimum age requirements apply: 20 years for the 53k and 17 years for the 23k. Members of UKA affiliated running clubs are eligible for a £2 entry discount when affiliation is declared at checkout.

Services included for participants are live tracking for ultra entrants, a themed medal, free official race photos, chip-timed results, post race food and a hot meal. The course has kilometre distance flags, regular aid stations and marshals to guide runners. An event village provides food and drink options and partner giveaways at the finish.
