Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2027
The Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra is a marked mountain race held in the Patterdale area of the English Lake District on 17 July 2027. The route covers 57 km with 3700 m of ascent across paths, trails and rock on the central and eastern fells. The course runs over five ridgelines and passes locations including Red Tarn, Striding Edge, Swirral Edge, and views of Windermere, Ullswater and Haweswater. The maximum time allowed is 14.5 hours.
The event is classed as a Sky Extra. The race includes one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points, 11 manned checkpoints, GPS tracking and timing provided by Open Tracking, and offers ITRA UTMB ranking points. A professional safety officer and a mountain qualified safety team support the event. Entries include a wild seed bomb medal, a post-race vegan soup, and an option to join a tree planting scheme. Optional extras are available through the entry platform, such as a race tee, goat bells for support teams, and post-race massage.
