Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2026
Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra is a single-day mountain ultramarathon held in the English Lake District, based at Patterdale. The marked route covers 57 km with 3700 m of ascent and a maximum time allowed of 14.5 hours. The course includes long ridge sections and rocky scrambles, notably Striding Edge, Swirral Edge and Long Stile Edge, and traverses central and eastern fells within the UNESCO status English Lake District.
The event is classified by Skyrunning UK as a "Sky Extra" race. It offers GPS tracking and timing from Open Tracking and awards ITRA and UTMB ranking points. The entry package includes a fully marked course, one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points, eleven manned checkpoints, post-race vegan soup, a wild seed bomb medal, and a professional safety officer with a mountain qualified safety team.
Entries open and close on set dates and there is a minimum age of 19 on race day. Entry fees are listed with an early rate and a higher rate from 01/04/2026. Entries are not vetted for this ultra route. Organisers advise that previous mountain race or significant mountain experience is recommended but not mandatory for entry.
