Event overview

The Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra is scheduled for 18 July 2026 in Patterdale. The race distance is 57 km with 3700 m of ascent and a maximum allowed time of 14.5 hours. Course and support

The route follows central and eastern Lake District mountain trails and includes grassy trods, mountain paths, bare rock, scree, bog and open fell. It traverses exposed ridgelines including Striding Edge and Swirral Edge and uses marked mountain routes. The course is run in an anti-clockwise direction. Race support includes a fully marked course, one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points, 11 manned checkpoints, GPS tracking and timing, and a professional safety officer with a mountain-qualified safety team. The entry package also notes ITRA/UTMB ranking points, a post-race vegan salty soup, and a wild flower seed-bomb medal. Optional extras are available through the entry system.
