Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2027
Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2027 is a single-day mountain running event based in Patterdale on 17 July 2027. The route is 57 km long with 3700 m of ascent and a maximum time allowed of 14.5 hours. Entrants must be at least 19 years old on race day.
The organiser describes the course as technically demanding and modelled on European sky races. The route crosses multiple high ridgelines and rock sections, passing features such as Red Tarn, Striding Edge and Swirral Edge, and offering views of Windermere, Ullswater and Haweswater. The event is course-marked and includes one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points and 11 manned checkpoints.
Entries open on 1 October 2026 and close on 27 June 2027. Entry fees increase in stages during the entry period. The event includes GPS tracking and timing provided by Open Tracking, ITRA/UTMB ranking points, a professional safety officer and a mountain qualified safety team. Finishers receive a wild seed bomb medal and a post-race vegan salty soup. Optional extras available to entrants include a cotton event tee, goat-bells for support teams and a post-race massage.
