It includes exposed ridge terrain such as Striding Edge and Swirral Edge and other fell sections including Lower Man to Helvellyn, Cofa Pike and the ascent from Haweswater to High Street. The race now runs in an anti-clockwise direction.
Entries do not require vetting and entrants must be at least 19 years old on race day. The organiser lists recommended prior mountain experience or completion of long mountain challenges for those unsure, but notes that such experience is not a formal entry requirement.
Included with entry are a fully marked course, one supplied feed station plus two valley support points and 11 manned checkpoints, GPS tracking and timing, ITRA/UTMB ranking points, a professional safety officer and mountain qualified safety team, a wild flower seed bomb medal and post-race vegan salty soup. Optional extras such as a race tee, goat-bells and post-race massage are available via the entry system. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
