Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2027
Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra is a single-day mountain running event held in the Patterdale area of the Central and Eastern Fells, English Lake District. The course covers 57 km with 3700 m of ascent and a maximum time allowed of 14.5 hours. Participants travel over multiple high ridgelines and sections of rock and trail, including Red Tarn, Striding Edge, Swirral Edge, and views of Windermere, Ullswater and Haweswater.
The race is course-marked and includes one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points, and 11 manned checkpoints. GPS tracking and timing are provided by Open Tracking. The event offers ITRA and UTMB ranking points and is supported by a professional Safety Officer and a mountain-qualified safety team. A post-race vegan salty soup is provided for finishers and a wild seed bomb medal is included with entry.
Entry requirements specify a minimum age of 19 on race day. The event has been classified by Skyrunning UK as a Sky Extra race. The organiser notes that this is not a vetted race. Optional extras available through the entry system include a quality cotton tee, goat-bells for support teams, and post-race massage, each offered at a stated additional cost.
