Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra 2027
The Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra is a single-day, course-marked mountain race held in the Central and Eastern fells of the English Lake District on 17 July 2027. The route covers 57km with 3700m of ascent, based around Patterdale and including multiple high ridgelines, Red Tarn, Striding Edge and Swirral Edge, and views of Windermere, Ullswater and Haweswater. The maximum time allowed is 14.5 hours.
The event is classified by Skyrunning UK as a "Sky Extra" race (2018). It is not a vetted race. Minimum entry age is 19 years on race day. Entry fees start at £120, rising to £130 from 30/11/2026 and to £140 from 31/03/2027.
Entries include a fully marked course, one fully supplied feed station, two valley support points, eleven manned checkpoints, GPS tracking and timing from Open Tracking, ITRA/UTMB ranking points, and a professional safety officer with a mountain qualified safety team. Other included items are a wild seed bomb medal and an option to join a tree planting scheme. Optional extras available via SiEntries include a quality cotton tee, goat-bells for support teams, and post-race massage.
The race route uses Lake District paths, trails and rock and requires mountain running skills in high and technical terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
