Silsoe Stride
The Silsoe Stride is a village-run running event set within the grounds of Wrest Park and neighbouring farmland. Both senior routes start and finish at Wrest Park and pass through the estate, past Burton Farm and into the surrounding countryside. The terrain is multi terrain and includes farm tracks, areas of longer grass, woodland paths and a few hills. Runners are asked to walk over cattle grids and to follow marshal instructions; headphones and earphones are not permitted on the farm sections. Dogs are allowed on the playing field if kept on a lead but are not allowed on the farm tracks or race courses.
Race headquarters use the Sports Pavilion where refreshments, a BBQ, a bag drop and extra toilets are provided. Parking is provided at the bottom of Park Avenue and signs direct vehicles to the reserved parking area. Registration takes place on race morning at the Registration Gazebo and entrants should ensure their race number is clearly visible and their timing chip is fitted correctly.
