Silsoe Stride
Silsoe Stride is a community running event held at Wrest Park, Silsoe, Bedford (MK45 4HR) on 28 June 2026. The courses run through the park grounds and neighbouring farmland, offering a gently undulating route for the shorter course and a route with some hills for the longer course.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K
- Children's races ranging from 100 m to 1000 m
Age and participation notes: the 10K is open to people aged over 15 on the event day and is not suitable for walkers. The 5K is open to those aged over 7 and welcomes walkers and Nordic walkers. Children's races are for ages 2 to 10 and entrants are allocated to specific races by age and school year group; children's eligibility also includes those born after 28 June 2016 for the fun run on the day.
All children's finishers receive a medal, and the first girl and first boy in each children's race receive a trophy. The event is organised by volunteers and local village groups, with profits shared among village beneficiaries; previous years have distributed over £28,000. Facilities on site include a playing field with space for family groups, a planned refreshments area, and spaced toilets with controlled access.
