Event overview
Silsoe Stride is an annual community running event held at Wrest Park and neighbouring farmland in Silsoe, Bedford. The route runs on a gently undulating course through the park and nearby fields. The event is organised by village volunteer groups and community organisations, with profits shared among local beneficiaries. In past years more than £28,000 has been distributed to village groups.
Races and entry
The event includes the following races:
- 10K
- 5K
- Children’s Fun Run (various short distances)
The 10K includes a few hills and is for entrants aged 15 and over; it is not suitable for walkers. The 5K is open to entrants aged 7 and over and allows walkers and Nordic walkers. Children’s races are for younger children, typically between 2 and 10 years old, with race distances from 100 m to 1000 m allocated by age and school year. All finishers in the children’s races receive a medal; first girl and first boy in each race receive a trophy. Listed entry prices include £23 for the adult 10K, £12 for the adult 5K, and £4 for children’s races.
Location and facilities
