Silent Pool 10km
This is a guided trail run of 10 km that starts and finishes at Silent Pool Car Park, Albury, Guildford. The route uses sections of the North Downs Way and passes through the forest of Netley Heath before descending to the village of Shere, including locations used in the films The Holiday and Bridget Jones Diary. The course includes a mix of wide trails suitable for group running and narrower single-track sections.
Events are scheduled for Tuesday 2 March 2027 and Tuesday 7 September 2027. Runs are offered as sunset sessions in the lighter months and night sessions in darker months; night runs use headtorches and take place in a group environment. The run is led by an experienced guide who provides route management and advice; a full kit list will be supplied to participants in advance.
This is not a race: the group moves together, commonly hiking steeper climbs and regrouping regularly. Participants should be comfortable maintaining an average trail pace of around 10 minutes per mile (6:15 minutes per km) for prolonged periods. A car park is available at the meeting point and the location is accessible by car. The fee is £22 per person. Participants may be offered branded torches to trial during the run and an alcohol free beer may be available at the end, subject to availability.
