Signpost Challenge Hike

Signpost Challenge Hike, hosted by LDWA South Manchester, is based in Marple at the Marple Senior Citizens Hall. It offers two routes: 24 miles (4,300 ft ascent) and 17 miles (3,000 ft), to be completed within 10 hours. The hilly course heads north and east from Marple, crossing Werneth Low, Cown Edge, Lantern Pike and Chinley Churn in the High Peak, returning via the Goyt Valley.

For 2025 there are indoor checkpoints: Hayfield Scout Hut for the long route and Rowarth’s Children’s Inn for the short route. Three outdoor and one indoor CP per route, with drinks and snacks; mug required. Entry: members £17; non-members £22.
