Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run
The Signal Hill Rotary Mutt Run is a community athletic event held in Long Beach, California. The event takes place at the Granada Launch Ramp near Rosie's Dog Beach, with the route following the scenic Long Beach shoreline along a pedestrian path. The event supports local causes, with proceeds benefiting Long Beach Animal Care Services and the Signal Hill Rotary community project fund.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K (options for human only or humans with dogs)
- 1K (humans with dogs)
The event is open to all breeds of dogs. To ensure safety on the course, all dogs must remain on a leash at all times and must be non-aggressive toward other people and animals. While some categories focus on runners, participants are also welcome to walk the course at their own pace.
Registered participants in both the 1K and 5K events receive a high-quality race t-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in the 5K category. Following the run, an adoption event hosted by Long Beach Animal Care Services takes place at the finish line as part of a post-race festival. Race packets are available for collection at the starting line on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
