About the race
A 'low-key' off road running event covering approximately 27 km (17 miles) with 3999 ft of elevation around Sidmouth. Each runner must visit four trig points in order: Weston Cliff, Buckton Hill, Beacon Hill and High Peak. Participants choose their own route between trig points, and excessive road use is strongly discouraged. The course includes a few extra checkpoints as well.
The race is a loop and finishes where it starts. Registration and race number pickup take place at the Watersports Hub, Sidmouth EX10 8BG. The start location is at the flagpole opposite the Watersports Hub. Toilet, shower and refreshment facilities are available at the Watersports Hub.
There is a minimum age restriction of 18 and dogs are not allowed on the course. Marshals will be positioned on the route near the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidbury, White Cross and Four Elms. All profits from the race go to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). CRY work to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and they support affected families.
All finishers receive a locally made Welsh slate coaster. Runners who complete the specified series of three events in 2027 including this race will receive a special commemorative set of coasters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
