Sidmouth Four Trigs
Sidmouth Four Trigs is described as a 'low-key' off-road running event covering approximately 27 km (about 17 miles) with 3999 ft of elevation. The course requires each runner to visit four trig points in order: Weston Cliff, Buckton Hill, Beacon Hill and High Peak. A few additional checkpoints are also included along the route.
Participants may choose their own route between trig points, with excessive road use strongly discouraged. The race is a loop course and finishes at the same location where it starts. Registration and race number pickup take place at the Watersports Hub, Sidmouth EX10 8BG. Toilet, shower and refreshments are available at the Watersports Hub.
There is an age restriction: runners must be 18 or older. Dogs are not permitted. Marshals will be positioned on the course near the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidbury, White Cross and Four Elms. All finishers receive a locally-made Welsh slate coaster.
All profits from the event go to Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity that focuses on awareness, screening and research related to young sudden cardiac death, and supports affected families. In addition, runners who complete a specified series of three events in 2027 will receive a special commemorative set of coasters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
