Summer Challenge Day 1

The Summer Challenge Day 1 is an 8-hour timed running and walking event located in Exmouth. Participants utilize a scenic route on a disused train line near Capel Lane. The course consists of a 5.3 km out-and-back lap that is entirely paved with tarmac. Because the course is accurately measured, it is classified as a road surface.

The event uses a flexible start system where participants can begin their activity at any point within a specific morning and afternoon window. The primary objective is to complete as many laps as possible before the afternoon cutoff. All participants who complete at least one lap within the time limit are considered finishers.

Available participation options include:

  • Single or multiple 5.3 km laps
  • 8-hour timed challenge

The event is open to participants aged 18 and over, with a maximum capacity of 75 entrants. The terrain is described as undulating rather than flat. Finishers receive a medal upon completion of their final lap, provided they finish before the course closes. If the event reaches capacity, later entrants may receive a bespoke medal from available stock. The event is held under an ARC permit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
