Otter Rail and River Run
The Otter Rail and River Run is a running event held on July 11, 2026. It starts and finishes on the village playing field in Tipton St John, EX10 0AF.
The event features two races:
- 10km: An off-road, undulating route. It follows the River Otter downstream, goes through Harpford woods, along an old railway line, and through fields and tracks back to the village.
- Fun Run: An off-road route of approximately 1 mile.
Finishers of the 10km who are 18 or older receive a bottle of Otter Ale, with an alcohol-free option. A custom medal or coaster is available as an optional extra. All Fun Run finishers receive a custom, locally designed medal and a jelly snake.
Camping is permitted on the playing field over the weekend for an additional fee. The event is organized by the Tipton St John Playing Field Association in conjunction with Sidmouth Running Club and is held under ARC rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
