About the race
The Chilly Cheeks Christmas 5K is a community run and virtual event held on December 20, 2026, in Buhl Park, Hermitage, PA (715 Hazen Road). This is the third year of the event. The course passes through the park where there is a Christmas tree and light display; participants may run or walk the 5 km route. Proceeds support PACFI.
Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes June 30, 2026. Fees listed for the events are $15.00 for the in-person 5K and $20.00 for the virtual 5K. Packet pick up is available at Hermitage Agway on December 19 and at the Buhl Park casino building on race day. Participants who pick up at Hermitage Agway receive a Daffin's chocolate candy.
The event offers prize money to the overall male and female winners and awards Christmas-themed medals in five-year age groups (1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+). Costume contest categories include jolliest costume male, jolliest costume female, and jolliest couple/group. All finishers receive a homemade wooden Christmas tree ornament; virtual runners will be sent their medal and shirt. Event shirts are optional for an extra $10.
