About the race
SHRM Washington DC Impact 5K is a community-focused event held at Rock Creek Park, 4850 Colorado Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011. The event offers both an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K, and supports the SHRM Foundation scholarship and workforce development initiatives.
Distances
- 5K in-person
- 5K virtual (complete on November 7 or November 8, 2026)
Registration opens August 21, 2026. In-person registration fees change by date: $40 through September 25, $45 September 26 through October 25, and $55 October 26 through November 7. Virtual registration fees are $50 through September 25 and $55 September 26 through November 7; virtual registration closes November 7 at midnight. Race shirts are guaranteed only for registrations submitted by October 25. All in-person registrants receive a bib, race shirt, and medal; virtual registrations include shipping for the packet, shirt, and medal.
Packet pick up locations and times:
- =PR= Run & Walk Store Arlington, 4238 Wilson Blvd, Suite 1235: Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6 (times provided by organizer).
- Race site at Rock Creek Park: Saturday, November 7 (early morning).
Course rules prohibit strollers, pets or dogs, bicycles, and inline skates. Awards for the top three overall male and female finishers will be mailed after the race.
The event includes a Gratitude and Veterans Appreciation Drive; participants may bring a new pack of warm thermal socks or write a handwritten note for local veterans. Virtual participants submit results through the official submission system by 11:59 PM on November 8, 2026, and can upload photos that may be shared on SHRM Washington DC community channels.
