Event overview
The Shrewsbury Junior and Super Sprint Duathlon is a run-bike-run event held at Shrewsbury Sports Village, Sundorne Rd, Shrewsbury, SY1 4RQ on 12 April 2026. All activity takes place within the sports village grounds on a purpose-built cycle track. The event is traffic free and all races are timed. Every participant receives a McA Series medal. Tern Cycles will be on site for mechanical issues.
Race categories and distances
- Tristart (age 8): Run 400m, Bike 1km, Run 200m
- Tristar 1 (age 9-10): Run 1km, Bike 4km, Run 400m
- Tristar 2 (age 11-12): Run 1.5km, Bike 6km, Run 600m
- Tristar 3 (age 13-14): Run 2km, Bike 8km, Run 800m
- Super Sprint (age 15 and over): adult super sprint category
Age categories are set by age on 31 December of the event year. Entry prices range from £15.00 to £18.50 depending on category.
Logistics and safety
Registration is located by the cycle track and participants collect race numbers at arrival. There is ample free parking in the main car park. Transition is on the cycle track in a cut-through area; participants should keep unnecessary bags in their cars as there is no bag drop. All riders must wear a helmet to ride.
